Situated in Blackpool, North West England, La Calavera College is the first dedicated college of its kind in the U.K.
The aim is to educate, train and introduce a new wave of mortuary and funeral professionals ensuring industry recognised qualification and providing an essential safeguard for both the practitioner and the client.
The college currently offers tuition for the professional diploma in the art and science of embalming as prescribed by the British Institute of Embalmers (B.I.E.) and will soon offer the professional diploma in funeral services under the auspices of the British Institute of Funeral Directors (B.I.F.D.).
The mission is simple, to continue to build and develop a reputable college committed to delivering the highest level of education and training for the funeral professionals of the future.

Finally the Carolus library, on site at the college, is a comprehensive and ever expanding resource for mortuary and funeral specific literature. Select texts are available for student loan and a fully functional library lending facility is currently in development.

Our Facilities
La Calavera College boasts exciting facilities, old and new, for the benefit of its collegiate, both within the bricks and mortar of the locally listed ‘Fenestra House’ and as part of its online extension through an exclusive virtual learning environment.
The Carolus Library & Reading Room
An ever expanding resource for field specific and associated reading, offering students formative support in the areas of human anatomy, pathology, forensic and mortuary sciences and the history of embalming and funeral practices.
The library and adjoining reading room serve as a quiet space for private use by prior booking and will soon provide a dedicated library service for students past and present.
Virtual Learning Environment
La Calavera College is pleased to offer its students access to their own personal learning space, the space can be used as a bridge between classes or a solution for distance learning.
It serves as a one stop shop for course resources and a valuable communication and collaboration tool between fellow learners. It is the students that really make this space their place.
Multi-Lingual Faculty
With tutor and teaching assistant hailing from the UK and Latin-America and contacts throughout Europe, La Calavera College are in a position to facilitate tuition on select courses in multiple languages.
